What's the protocol?

So here I am in my first year of playing fantasy football and I am in the finals. I went up against Shawn's brother in the semi-final. I cannot explain to you how happy I am that I won. I just really wanted to beat him. Last year my FIL won first. BIL won second. Shawn won third. This year, Shawn got knocked out in the quarterfinal. Guess who I'm going up against in the final.

Done guessing?
Did you guess my father-in-law?
So is it wrong that more than wanting to win it for myself I really just want to beat him?
Am I allowed to smack talk my father-in-law?

hee.

fwiw, Shawn won both matchups I had with him during the regular season. He went into the playoffs in first place and I went in at seventh.

I'm sorry, Peyton

I jinxed him. *sob*

If you watch the video here, you can see him run a touchdown in at 0:27 and the play where he got injured at about 0:56. A more detailed view of the injury here.

There's the obvious reason this upsets me, because I feel like I jinxed him because he is my newest football crush, and then there's the equally as obvious reason it upsets me, because he is a fantasy football owner's dream. At least he got me 12 points before he got hurt. Hopefully it's not too serious. *waiting for news*

4:13 p.m.
"Broncos placed RB Peyton Hillis on injured reserve with a torn hamstring, ending his season.
He tore the hammy "a few inches off the bone," Mike Shanahan revealed, and faces eight weeks of recovery. Hillis won't need surgery. Hillis ends his rookie year with 5.0 YPC average on 68 carries, six TDs, and 14 catches. He has a nice outlook as a future utility man, but probably not as a pure tailback. While Hillis will be in the mix for short-yardage carries in a potential 2009 committee for Denver, teams don't usually "feature" backs with limited speed and moves. His long-term ceiling in dynasty leagues is low."

waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

New football boyfriend

I still love Plaxico but he has hurt my heart. I am going to have to work up an intense crush on somebody else to help mend it.

I present to you (for at least the rest of the season): Peyton Hillis
LOOK AT HIS ARMS!!!!!! I am mesmerized by his left arm in that picture up there. I might make it my desktop background. mmmmuscles

He is way too young for me in reality but in Imaginary Boyfriend Land, he is fair game. I like that he's a total meathead and beats his chest like a caveman when he scores touchdowns. I like watching him workout.

I like that he jumps over people, barrels through people, drags people and does whatever he has to do to get positive yardage. He has great hands. I know nothing about his personal life and I don't want to. I don't want him to break my heart, you know. I just want to, you know, crush on his meatheadedness.

For some reason, I can't work up an intense crush on any Steelers. I'm not sure why that is. I do, however, have something for Heath Miller. Something like adoration. I almost had a crush on Santonio Holmes but I saw something that scared me away. I love my Steelers. Maybe that's why I can't have crushes on them. I mean like intense, want to run away and live on a desserted island with them and be their sex slaves and have their babies kind of crushes. Or throw myself at their feet and wrap my entire body around their legs so they can never get away kind of crushes. I'll have to go to Denver for that.

See? These two little Jets guys must feel the same way.

It's time to admit I have bad taste

in football boyfriends.

In my defense though, this is the player I fell in love with:

This is the man I hated to lose:

This is the player who left me in awe:

And this is the man who melts my heart:

I don't know who this man is:

and I certainly don't know what he's thinking. But he breaks my heart.
